Aid can keep someone alive tonight. Development should change what is possible tomorrow.
For decades, the international aid system has measured money spent, projects delivered and people reached. We ask a harder question: what actually changed?
Fight Global Poverty examines who controls aid, who benefits from it and why so many countries remain trapped in hunger, debt and dependence after decades of development spending.
This is not an argument against emergency aid. It is a demand for development that eventually makes repeated emergency aid less necessary.

Our Mission
To change how aid and development address global hunger.
We want to see a system in which people become more food-secure, more economically independent and less reliant on repeated emergency aid.

That requires more than new projects and larger budgets. It requires honest scrutiny of who holds power, how success is measured and whether development is leaving people with greater control over their own futures.
We Ask...
How much was spent is not the same as what changed.
Who made the decisions?
Who controlled the money?
Whose knowledge counted?
Did people gain power, opportunity and economic independence?
Is the community less likely to need the same intervention again?
If development cannot answer these questions, its success deserves to be challenged.
A founding voice. A growing conversation.
After more than 50 years working across over 35 countries, development economist Benny Dembitzer reached a conclusion that could no longer be ignored:

The global system created to fight hunger is fundamentally broken.
Trillions have been spent. Institutions have expanded. Strategies have come and gone. Yet hundreds of millions of people still face hunger, while many countries remain trapped by debt, unequal trade and repeated dependence on emergency aid.

Benny began Fight Global Poverty because experience this hard-won should not disappear into another report, book or closed institutional meeting. It should provoke questions, challenge comfortable assumptions and bring more people into the conversation.

But this platform cannot belong to one person or one perspective.
Across the world, people are living with these systems, working inside them, challenging them and building alternatives. Their knowledge matters. Your knowledge may matter too.
